Humble COLDPLAY star CHRIS MARTIN insists his band is the best on the world because U2 and GREEN DAY are on vacation.
The British singer/songwriter admits his group will slip down the list of great bands once U2 and Green Day return with new albums in 2009.
Martin says, "The reason we're the biggest band in the world at the moment is because the others are on holiday. That's how you get your breaks. That's how the understudy gets his opportunity. "While U2 and Green Day are away, we've gotten to make the most of it."

2008 MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS “RICKROLLED” FOR BEST ACT EVER

London, Thursday 2nd October 2008 – MTV Networks International today revealed that over twenty years after his hit single went to No. 1 in 16 countries 80s popstar Rick Astley has been nominated in the category Best Act Ever as his fans take his hit single “Never Gonna Give You Up” literally. The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool – European Capital of Culture - on Thursday 6th November and are sponsored by edc by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell.

Rick Astley – in his first ever nomination in the history of the MTV Europe Music Awards – will compete against Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day, Tokio Hotel and U2 for Best Act Ever. She says they eloped because they wanted an intimate affair with no paparazzi, and their families would be so happy they wouldn't care how they did it. Her former keyboardist, Jason Freese, who currently plays with Green Day and Foxboro Hot Tubs, had been ordained online and performed the ceremony in the Bahamas.
