The Broadway productions of American Idiot, Memphis, Million Dollar Quartet and Elf: The Musical will strut their stuff at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 25.

The 84th annual parade, which will feature 27 floats and 12 student marching bands from across the country, begins at 77th Street and Central Park West and concludes at Herald Square at 7th Ave and 34th Street. The signature stop in front of Macy's department store in Herald Square will feature performances by the casts of American Idiot, Memphis and Elf: The Musical.

Various floats will include performances and/or appearances by the students of Stage Door Manor; Tony winner Betty Buckley; Joan and Melissa Rivers; Jessica Simpson (singing "My Only Wish for Christmas"); Gladys Knight on the Apollo Theater's "Top Hat!" float; Ann Hampton Callaway (performing "Yes, Virginia (There's A Santa Claus)"); and the cast of Million Dollar Quartet (performing "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" on board the Marion-Carol "Showboat" float).

The 84th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcast live 9 AM-noon on NBC.

(OAKLAND, CA) Green Day has announced that they have created 30 VIP ticket packages for their hometown show on September 4th at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, to benefit the Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland, the band announced today.

"My sister Anna works at Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland, so I am aware of the incredible work the hospital does, and how essential it is to support this community-based hospital," says Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong. "Children's Hospital and Research Center is a hospital where any child can go and get the best care, regardless of whether or not their families have insurance."

Founded in 1912, Children's Hospital Oakland serves children from throughout Northern California, is a global research leader, and has one of the most active designated Level I pediatric trauma center in the western United States.

Green Day is donating 30 pairs of tickets that include VIP Parking, VIP passes that include access to the band's pre-show soundcheck, backstage area, After-Show party, as well as a souvenir laminate and goody bag.

The New York Jets said Friday the band will play during the team's regular-season opener Sept. 13. The Jets face the Baltimore Ravens in the Monday night game at New Meadowlands Stadium.

Green Day will perform "Last of the American Girls" with the Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning rock musical "American Idiot." The halftime show will finish with fireworks.

The guitarist Slash and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will play during a tailgate concert outside the stadium. Scherzinger will sing the national anthem. More at this link at CBS

American pop punk trio also get into the World Cup spirit

The American punk pop trio played a mammoth two hour and 50 minute set from their 20 year backcatalogue featuring tracks and hits from seven of their eight albums as they peppered their set with pyrotechnics and shooting flames.

Arriving onstage to huge cheers, drummer Tre Cool charged down the catwalk before launching his drumsticks onto the main stage as the band kicked off the show with '21st Century Breakdown' opener 'Song Of The Century'.

Then singer Billie Joe Armstrong ordered the whole of the stadium to stand up as he declared: "This is the biggest fucking show we have ever had in our lives. This is going to be the best rock 'n' roll show Wembley has ever seen."

Throughout the gig, the singer declared his love for England and wrapped himself in the St George's flag and wore a wig with the cross on, on a number of occasions.

Billabong and Green Day have been working on a Design Coop which will release the new special limited edition, Green Day Mass Hysteria boardshort for 2010.

"We enjoy working on creative projects and this coop has been a lot of fun," says Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day.

A gray and black color palette of bold plaid with Green Day's signature logo overlaid fit the image of the band perfectly, tying the rock & roll attitude championed by Green Day and the loose functional fashion of the surf culture. "We expect the result to be one of the best selling boardshorts of the year in many of the retail outlets where the product was carried" says Rob McCarty, Billabong Men's Design Director. "Music and surfing are an easy fit."

While not a Signature Model item specifically endorsed by one of Billabong's top professional surfers, the boardshort will be prominently worn by team riders from Billabong. And although the promotion of the Green Day boardshort was relatively low key, it will find its way into the store windows of key shops in places like Times Square and Main Street Huntington Beach. It will be in stores everywhere throughout the rest of 2010.

Their first model was extremely well received from retail buyers, and the on-going enthusiasm indicates a strong response from surf shop customers for this season as well.

Green Day will kick off the special week on May 10. Previously announced participating artists include Keith Urban (May 11), Sheryl Crow (May 12) and Phish (May 13). On May 14, the show will premiere a new documentary about the making of "Exile on Main Street" titled "Stones in Exile."

As previously reported, "Exile" will be reissued on May 18 through Universal with 10 previously unreleased tracks from the original sessions, including "Following the River," "Plundered My Soul," "Pass the Wine" and "Dancing in the Light." A super deluxe edition includes the album on vinyl, a 30-minute DVD and a 50-page book with photos from the era.

Meanwhile, Green Day will begin a summer world tour on May 29 at the Pinkpop Festival in Holland. The group has dates on tap through early September. Burbank, CA - Reprise Records' multi-platinum rock band Green Day will hit the road with support from AFI in August for a series of North American tour dates produced by Live Nation. This is the second leg of the band's critically acclaimed U.S. tour in support of their current gold-certified album 21st Century Breakdown, which won a 2010 Grammy Award for "Best Rock Album."

In keeping with Green Day's trailblazing and innovative mind-set the band will feature all-inclusive ticket pricing for all tickets throughout their entire tour with no additional fees of any kind. MTV and Harmonix are also working on a Green Day specific game (called "Green Day: Rock Band" a la the Beatles version introduced last year), which Toffler, at Billboard's Music & Money Symposium, said would likely not have Green Day branded instruments like the Beatles game did. Good morning!

I'm a reporter from the New York Daily News who was assigned a feature on mega-Green Day fans excited about the band's upcoming Broadway play, "America Idiot," and plan to attend the show "in costume." I was wondering if you knew any fans from the New York City area who plan to attend the Broadway play "in costume" - meaning wearing punk or grunge style clothes, hair, accessories, etc., or if you'd be willing to post on your site a request for those fans to contact me?

Ideally, we're looking for fans who live in the NYC-area (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, or Long Island) who can be interviewed and photographed in their punk/grunge clothes by mid-week next week.

The tournament will feature Mistress of Ceremonies Renee Richardson from KFOG and many Bay Area personalities from the entertainment world. The event is a fundraiser for the Music Integrated Learning Environment program in the Oakland Unified School District. These funds will provide music programs for 240 students in three Oakland public elementary schools: Bella Vista, Brookfield and Burckhalter, plus professional development for over 60 OUSD classroom teachers, allowing them to integrate music into the language arts, science and social studies curriculums for thousands of students.

This "scramble-style" tournament includes a poolside BBQ lunch, incredible on-course events, beverages and prizes, live and silent auctions, musical entertainment and a delectable buffet dinner.

The entry fee if $200 per golfer or $720 per foursome.

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The video for the new version of Green Day's platinum single "21 Guns," now available from all digital service providers, will premiere on AOL Music on February 1st.

Both the song and video feature the members of Green Day, singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool, recording in the studio with the cast of American Idiot - the critically acclaimed stage version of Green Day's chart-topping 2004 album that completed a record-breaking three-month run at The Berkeley Repertory Theatre and is now moving to Broadway where it opens on April 20th. The video was shot by Doug Hamilton, who lensed all the behind-the-scenes documentary-style footage for the theatrical production.

"21 Guns," originally featured on the band's gold album 21st Century Breakdown, has been newly arranged by Tom Kitt, who is credited with the show's arrangements and musical supervision. The new version was recorded at Green Day's studio in Oakland, CA and produced by Armstrong. Prominently featured on the track are American Idiot cast members John Gallagher, Jr., who won a Tony Award in 2007 for Spring Awakening, Matt Kaplan, Michael Esper, Rebecca Naomi Jones (Passing Strange), Christina Sajous, and Mary Faber. Though the bulk of the songs in the musical are taken from American Idiot, four songs from 21st Century Breakdown, including "21 Guns," are featured in the show.

A brand-new three-song 21 Guns EP, featuring the original version, the new version with the American Idiot cast, and a live version recorded in Japan, is now available for purchase on iTunes.

The digital version of the original "21 Guns" has sold more than one million downloads, while the video won three 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in September, including "Best Rock Video." JAMES THEATRE Producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman announced today that following the record-breaking and critically acclaimed engagement at Berkeley Rep, the production will begin previews on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 and open on Broadway Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44 Street). Based on the Reprise Records Grammy® Award-winning album of the same name, AMERICAN IDIOT features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong. The show is directed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), who also collaborated with Armstrong on the book, and choreographed by Olivier Award-winning Steven Hoggett (Blackwatch). The Tony-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) is the music supervisor, orchestrator and music arranger. American Idiot, the new American musical based on the Grammy Award-winning rock album by Green Day, and featuring direction by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, opens April 20 at the St. James Theatre following previews from March 24.

A far cry from the sexual coming-of-age and teen-angst tale that was Spring Awakening, for which Mayer won the Tony Award for Best Direction, American Idiot � a narrative expansion of the album � is about a young man named Johnny (played by Spring Awakening's Tony-winning John Gallagher, Jr.), who journeys from the soulless suburbs in search of something greater, all in the post-9/11 age of media-saturation, fear and cynicism. His two pals, Will (played by Michael Esper) and Tunny (played by Tony nominee Stark Sands), take their own paths.

Johnny is also known as Jesus of Suburbia, a name familiar to fans of the 2004 Grammy Award-winning source album, a punk rock hit that has sold more than 12 million copies.
