(From Rolling Stone) After a two-year hiatus, GREEN DAY are heading into the studio to record a new album with producer SCOTT LITT (R.E.M., the Replacements, Nirvana). "I'm excited about the album," Litt told Rolling Stone. "Some of the songs I've heard are really special." In a letter sent to Green Day's label, Billie Joe Armstrong described the group's new songs as being lyrically more positive. "Not in a Prozac sort of way," the frontman stressed, "but more in the sense of surviving and living to tell about it, and taking on new challenges." The album is due out this summer.
